About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to lead our Early Intervention team at Abilities Pediatric Physical Therapy. As a Lead Pediatric Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of 10-20+ treatment hours/week, providing evidence-based therapy to clients in their home environment, and educating and instructing parents on daily integration of therapy strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform standardized assessments at evaluations and create goals with family
  • Manage scheduling clients
  • Complete timely documentation
  • Provide evidence-based therapy to clients in their home environment
  • Educate and instruct parents on daily integration of therapy strategies
  • Assist OT team with goal-writing, treatment ideas, mentorship
  • Guide team of OT therapists in advancing their knowledge in feeding disorders and treatments
Requirements
  • Current California licensure in Occupational Therapy
  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited university program
  • Experience with pediatric feeding/oral-motor issues
  • Knowledgeable in occupational therapy, trans-disciplinary early-intervention theories, sensory integration and rehabilitation principles and practices.
  • Knowledgeable evidence-based practices found to benefit children with Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD).
  • A minimum of 3 years of pediatric experience
  • Friendly, outgoing demeanor
  • Experience with working with families
  • Able to meet deadlines, detail and task-oriented
  • Well-versed in fine motor milestones
Preferred Qualifications
  • Sensory Integration experience
  • Bilingual Spanish
  • Knowledge when to screen for neuro referrals, bracing needs etc. are also highly valued.
