Job Summary

The Clinician II will provide clinical services to clients in our outpatient mental health clinic, serving individuals with co-occurring disorders. The ideal candidate will identify and utilize clients' strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences in completing assessments and developing individualized service plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual therapy, couple therapy, and family therapy
  • Provide crisis intervention counseling and referrals to ongoing mental health services
  • Utilize case conferencing and program teams to coordinate and ensure client treatment plans are effective and appropriate
  • Engage external and internal service providers to meet clients' needs
  • Provide group treatment using evidence-based practices, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Relapse Prevention, Relational, and Psychodynamic therapy
  • Participate in weekly clinical meetings to provide updates and assist in decision-making related to treatment planning and implementation
  • Function as a resource to the team on mental health-related issues and assist in various program components
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field
  • Experience working with a psychiatric, substance-using, co-occurring population
  • Spanish required
  • Familiarity with working in a strength-based, trauma-informed environment
  • Knowledge of community resources and issues affecting people with HIV/AIDS in recovery from substance use/alcoholism
  • Experience with individuals dealing with homelessness, mental illness, domestic violence, and the criminal justice system
  • Experienced in crisis management and intervention
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as an effective team member and independently
