Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Sentara Obici Hospital. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing advanced and specialized clinical knowledge and skills to facilitate the provision of patient/family-focused care.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, with a day shift schedule. You will be working in a 37-bed unit, including a dedicated 5-bed Behavioral Health Safe Suite. The department sees over 53K visits per year, with approximately 150 patients per day.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced and specialized clinical knowledge and skills to facilitate the provision of patient/family-focused care.
  • Drive practice changes throughout the organization to improve patient outcomes.
  • Ensure the use of evidence-based care to improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide expertise and support to patients, families, nurses, and organization/systems through direct care, leadership, coaching, research, ethical decision making, collaboration, and consultation.
Requirements:
  • RN Master's Level Degree (6 year)
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience
  • CEN Certification (Certified Emergency Nurse) or other related certification required
  • Virginia Clinical Nurse Specialist License in good standing
  • Virginia or Compact/Multistate RN in good standing required
  • BLS through AHA
  • ACLS
  • PALS
