Job Description

As a Staff Electronic Hardware Engineer at GE Aerospace, you will play a critical role in the design and development of high-reliability ignition products, solutions, and systems. Your expertise will be essential in driving technical improvements to existing products and components, leveraging your mastery of theoretical electrical engineering knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic parts, components, and integrated circuitry for engine ignition systems.
  • Determine design approaches and parameters, analyze equipment to establish validation approaches, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.
  • Develop new solutions with minimal guidance, working in a team setting or based on precedents in the organization.
  • Serve as a best practice/quality resource, staying aware of the latest technical developments in your area and contributing to strategy and policy development.
  • Work collaboratively with business leadership at various levels, specifying needs, communicating project approaches, and presenting outcomes of research.
  • Deliver products as part of a cross-functional multidisciplinary team, leading analytical and design activities using proven technologies and approaches.
  • Develop specialized knowledge in your discipline, leveraging in-depth knowledge of best practices and working knowledge of competition and market factors.
  • Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 9 years of experience in engineering).
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with analog, digital, and pulse power circuitry, high voltage electronic components, printed circuit board assemblies, and packaging.
  • Strong power electronics knowledge and background, strong oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence others, lead small teams, and coordinate several projects simultaneously.
