Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Electrical Distribution Engineer to join our team at the City of Austin. As a key member of our Electrical Distribution Standards Department, you will be responsible for applying engineering and technical principles to specify the purchase requirements and construction standards of electrical distribution equipment and materials.

Main Responsibilities
  • Apply engineering and technical principles to specify the purchase requirements and construction standards of electrical distribution equipment and materials.
  • Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to provide assistance in determining cause and solutions to equipment and material failures.
  • Work with a broad range of work groups and professional disciplines.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in engineering, plus seven (7) years of experience related to engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, the ability to obtain a Texas PE license within one (1) year of employment.

Expected Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 per year, based on experience.
