Job Title: Electrical Engineer for Advanced Systems

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join our team at The University of Texas at Austin. As an Electrical Engineer for Advanced Systems, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and testing cutting-edge network and sonar systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop advanced electrical systems, including system cabling and power distribution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and test complex systems.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including schematics, block diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of system performance, identifying and resolving issues as needed.
- Ensure system designs meet or exceed specified requirements, tracking and verifying design progress against established benchmarks.

Estimated Salary: $140,000 - $200,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in system design, development, and testing.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and open-source documentation tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, communicating complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering.
- Experience with various communication and bus architectures, including USB, Ethernet, and Fiber Optic.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Agile project management principles.
- Eligibility for classified information access.
