We are seeking a highly skilled Food Services Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our inmate kitchen. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the preparation and serving of meals meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sanitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Meal Preparation: The Food Services Supervisor will be responsible for the preparation of meals during each daily meal period, ensuring that each meal meets established standards of preparation, presentation, and sanitation.
- Sanitation and Safety: The Food Services Supervisor will ensure that all kitchen staff practices good sanitation skills and that all applicable sanitation standards are met and continually maintained.
- Supervision: The Food Services Supervisor will supervise inmate kitchen workers, resulting in the preparation of over 6500 meals daily for both staff and inmates.
- Facility Procedures: The Food Services Supervisor will be required to adapt to unusual events or occurrences while still enduring the timely and satisfactory meal preparation, in accordance with the Facility Standing Operating Procedures (S.O.P.).
- Equipment Maintenance: The Food Services Supervisor will be responsible for the proper use, maintenance, and repair of equipment, ensuring that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards to prevent injury to staff and adherence to safe and effective sanitation procedures.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct inmates to the successful completion of each daily meal period without incident, while maintaining institutional security. The successful candidate will also have a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in food service management or a related field. The successful candidate will also possess a valid food handler's certification and a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures.
