POSITION SUMMARY:


Under limited supervision, the Production Operations Supervisor manages product output for clients, leading a team that includes employees and individuals with developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges.

Individuals in this role are responsible for scheduling projects, coordinating staff and/or clients, ensuring quality control, and addressing production challenges while maintaining regular communication with staff, customers, and management.

This position requires a solid understanding of workflow and scheduling within a manufacturing context, as well as the ability to effectively communicate, work with adults facing developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges, and manage multiple projects efficiently.


TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. *Manages product output for PRIDE Industries clients. Prioritizes tasks, organizes work, trains clients, directs workflow, and monitors project progress to completion. Ensures compliance with procedures, regulations, and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks.

2. *Monitors production progress. Evaluates factors influencing production timelines and resolves issues.

Offers recommendations to ensure production schedules meet client satisfaction and identifies critical paths to ascertain which tasks may impact project completion dates.

3. *Organizes work, trains, and supervises staff and/or client workers to ensure quality and progress of orders.

4.

*Acts as a communication bridge between floor staff and Production Manager to synchronize production schedules and changes, address employee concerns, and enhance communication.

5.

*Collaborates with clients to comprehend job specifications, special requirements, and deadlines, ensuring clear communication, resolving issues, and enhancing client satisfaction.

6.

*Participates in departmental meetings regularly; welcomes and considers constructive suggestions and recommendations from staff to improve operations.

Leads meetings in the absence of the Production Manager.

7.

*Observes client behavior during work, transportation, and breaks, addressing potential issues to minimize conflicts and ensure individual safety.

8. *Creates various documents including memos, spreadsheets, and recurring reports such as client attendance, case memos, and incident/accident reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One or more years of relevant experience in manufacturing, production, or scheduling;
  • Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges is preferred;
  • Knowledge and training in Food Safety (HACCP) and Food Protection programs, National Organic Program (NOP), California Health and Safety Code, Division 104, Part - Sherman Food, Drug and
Cosmetic Law: 2008, and FDA's Quality System Regulations is preferred;

  • Knowledge of planning, forecasting, and scheduling in a manufacturing environment;
  • Familiarity with departmental operations, organizational policies, applicable laws, procedures, and processes;
  • Understanding of specialized departmental equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, push carts, scales, skinpack, and shrink-wrap production packaging equipment;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respond to inquiries from team members, clients, and others;
  • Strong written communication skills using appropriate business English;
  • Interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with team members;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Intermediate computer proficiency including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software;
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division;
  • Demonstrated customer service, problem-solving, and common-sense skills.

High School Diploma or GED

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods with or without assistance.


  • Maneuvering in and around the production floor and equipment
  • Lifting and/or moving boxes or equipment up to 25 pounds
  • Viewing computer screens
  • Utilizing keyboards

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is conducted in a manufacturing setting with forklifts and production equipment.

Employees may encounter noise from machinery in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to elevated temperatures, high heat, occasional fumes, toxic chemicals, and airborne particles.
