About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Financial Officer to support our Life division. The ideal candidate will possess extensive corporate development experience, with a proven track record in business development roles, potentially including a background in private equity or other successful business/finance ventures.

The role requires a dynamic personality with strong financial acumen, influencing skills, and the ability to drive change effectively. The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for establishing financial controls and governance, managing budgets, and leading strategic initiatives to drive growth and profitability within the Life division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives, ensuring long-term financial sustainability and growth.
  • Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, partnerships, and acquisitions to drive expansion and diversification within the Life division.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to provide insights into business performance and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Manage the budgeting process, including the development, monitoring, and control of budgets to optimize resource allocation and achieve financial targets.
  • Assess and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in risk management.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance and business development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership and partners to align financial strategies with business objectives and foster strong relationships.
  • Drive organizational change initiatives, effectively managing resistance and facilitating adoption to ensure successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Communicate financial insights and recommendations effectively to key stakeholders through presentations, reports, and discussions, translating complex financial concepts into clear and actionable insights.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, standards, and policies, maintaining a strong internal control environment and promoting a culture of ethical conduct and integrity.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, business development, and corporate strategy, with a focus on the life industry preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in leading financial planning and analysis, business development, and strategic initiatives within complex organizations.
  • Extensive experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and valuation techniques, with a deep understanding of financial markets and/or industry trends.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals and drive organizational change.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines.
  • Advanced degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred, along with relevant certifications such as CPA, CFA, or MBA.
