Position Overview

Role Summary: As a Field Service Technician B, you will leverage your technical expertise to uphold product knowledge and quality standards within the branch. Your role is crucial in ensuring that the Herc fleet operates efficiently at customer job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, equipment lubrication, tire replacements, and hose repairs.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues with heavy machinery to maintain optimal performance at job sites.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot various systems including fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane.
  • Recondition and replace components to restore equipment functionality.
  • Educate clients on proper equipment usage to prevent future malfunctions.
  • Assess wear and tear on equipment and address concerns to ensure safe operation until the next service visit.
  • Adhere to safety protocols at all active job sites.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at job sites.
  • Generate detailed service reports and repair logs in a timely manner.
  • Follow established company procedures and protocols.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Professional Experience:

  • Ability to interpret detailed technical schematics and owner manuals.
  • Possession of a comprehensive set of hand and air/electric tools for repairs.
  • Capability to operate and test various equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, and generators.
  • Availability to be on-call for operational needs.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Skills Required:

  • Proficient in operating multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
  • Timely follow-up with customers.
  • Safe handling of tools and equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
  • Strong customer service skills for effective communication with job site foremen.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing job site requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of time management principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.

Compensation: Starting at $34.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
