Patient Care Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Student Patient Care Technician to join our team at Ellis Medicine. As a Student Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities:- Safety: Provide assistance and observation to prevent falls, report unsafe conditions, and adhere to policies and procedures regarding restraints.
- Patient Care: Provide care within job duties and responsibilities, assist with daily bed baths and chlorhexidine baths, and provide perineal care for all patients.
- Equipment Operation: Use patient care equipment such as sphygmomanometer, scales, pulse oximeter, and Radiant Warmer, and perform technical procedures such as phlebotomy, EKG, and urine and sputum specimen collection.
- Data: Obtain and record accurate vital signs, height and weight, and perform 12-lead EKG and bedside glucose monitoring.
- Customer Service: Demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity when interacting with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers, and maintain open lines of communication with peers and other members of the healthcare team.
- Education and Experience: Matriculated in an RN nursing program, high school diploma or equivalent required, and prior healthcare experience highly preferred.
- Certification: BLS preferred.
- Communication: Listen to understand, before seeking to be understood.
- Collaboration: Deliver outstanding service ensuring that safety comes first.
- Compassion: Serve every person with empathy, dignity, and compassion.
Should be able to push/pull, lift/move 35 lb., be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time, and be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers.
Salary Range:Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
