Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Barista to join our team at HayMax Hotels LLC. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting and serving a wide range of specialty coffee, tea, and other beverage offerings while providing exceptional knowledge and hospitality to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain the Café bar area, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for guests.
  • Set up the Café bar station in a timely manner, working alongside coworkers to ensure a seamless service experience.
  • Know and execute the service expectations outlined in the service manual.
  • Help to promote a safe and clean environment for coworkers and guests.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of products and specifications, including ingredients, descriptions, sourcing, brands, and allergens.
  • Use heightened awareness of guest allergies and work to code according to our allergy standards.
  • Check in with coworkers upon arrival and offer assistance before beginning duties.
  • Perform bar maintenance throughout the shift, including crumbing, keeping waters full, and clearing and resetting serving ware.
  • Coordinate service at the bar with bar back, runners, and bartenders when appropriate.
  • Report guest complaints to management immediately and follow our five-step process for navigating guest complaints.
  • Build relationships with regular guests and maintain good relations with our neighborhood and industry community members.
  • Comply with sanitation standards and procedures according to health and legal regulations.
  • Complete weekly cleaning duties, in addition to opening and closing duties.
  • Maintain a reasonable response time for all communication and flexible availability, including early mornings or late nights, holidays, and time for all staff meetings.
  • Focus on continuing education and development in all facets of our operations, including the bar, kitchen, service, coffee, and tea programs.
  • Act in a professional manner to represent HayMax Hotels LLC graciously, whether in-house, traveling, or at another local establishment.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Maintain inventory levels and complete requisitions and stock items as needed to optimize Café performance.
  • Implement and maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in accordance with local regulations.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as front-of-house staff and management, to create a seamless and exceptional dining experience.

Requirements:

  • Excellent guest service and problem-resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Spanish language preferred.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Previous Café or Barista experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of hospitality experience preferred.
  • High school diploma preferred.
