Mortgage Financing Specialist

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess initial loan applications and supporting documentation to verify creditworthiness and repayment capability.
2. Conduct preliminary evaluations of applicants' credit and income, ensuring clear communication of decisions to applicants.
3. Provide essential information regarding origination timelines, product offerings, pricing, and underwriting criteria to all applicants.
4. Engage in proactive outreach to applicants, ensuring the timely collection of necessary documentation to facilitate the loan process.
5. Keep applicants informed about the status of their loans, including suspense, approvals, and declines.
6. Collaborate with realtors, builders, mobile signers, and other stakeholders to streamline the loan process.
7. Manage the loan workflow to guarantee timely communication of disclosures, changes, and closing documents to borrowers.
8. Continuously enhance sales and customer service skills through ongoing training and development.
9. Strive to maximize the number of qualified loans funded each month by actively pursuing all leads.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a professional demeanor and a strong work ethic, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with applicants throughout the loan process. A track record of high performance in a commission-driven environment is essential.

Required Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Previous experience in financial services or sales, particularly in a call center environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office and internet applications.
- Exceptional telephone communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to various systems and workflows.
- Capability to remain composed under pressure and meet critical deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 2-4 years of successful loan origination experience, preferably in residential mortgages.
- Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and regulatory mortgage lending requirements.
- Familiarity with mortgage products, pricing, and underwriting guidelines.
- Consultative sales experience in a mortgage-focused organization.
- Experience in high-volume transaction processing with a keen attention to detail.

Education:
- Must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and have successfully passed the required exams, with a willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
