Job Title: Residential Behavior Technician

Job Summary:

The Residential-Based Behavior Technician works directly with residents in a group home, assisting them in accomplishing daily life activities and achieving personal goals as outlined in their plan of care, with the application of behavior analytic principles and programming.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents in completing supported routines in personal hygiene, menu planning, grocery shopping, food preparation, and other daily activities.
  • Perform duties with or for the supported person when they are unable to perform the task independently or if the person refuses to do so, causing a living situation that threatens the health and safety of the person.
  • Encourage supported persons to manage their own lives by offering choices and respecting the individual's personal preferences and goals.
  • Implement the Plan of Supports for each person supported, including objective training, medication self-administration, behavioral supports, and other needs as planned by the Behavior Analyst and Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Maintain a valid SC Driver's License with a good driving record to drive company vehicles.
  • Complete documentation, including ISP data for training objectives, t-logs, GERs, behavior plan ISP data, and other data collection as assigned.
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a facility serving individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
  • Sit, stand, bend, lift, and possible physical interventions with supported persons that may be combative and in crisis at times.
  • Multi-tasking during work occurs frequently and often causes interruptions.
  • Communicate with direct support staff, clinical staff, and other department supervisors.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
