The Surgical Services Manager RN is a key member of the St. David's Georgetown Hospital team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Main OR and Scheduling departments. This role requires a strong leader who can maintain a clean and safe environment, develop a professional climate within the nursing unit, and ensure effective coverage of the department.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, direct, and control staffing assignments to meet departmental objectives and policies.
- Participate in unit activities and operations, including creating and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with O.R. personnel, Anesthesiologists, and Surgeons to ensure smooth operations.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate staff to ensure they meet the needs of the department.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree.
- Minimum of two years specialized nursing experience applicable to the unit.
- Previous supervisory and surgery scheduling experience preferred.
