Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of assigned Commercial Lines accounts.
  • Market new and existing clients to potential carriers to secure competitive coverage and premiums.
  • Deliver exceptional service to commercial clients while ensuring high customer retention rates.
  • Conduct thorough coverage analysis and provide tailored consultation and recommendations.
  • Establish and nurture long-term client relationships.
  • Play a pivotal role in introducing new insurance products and ensuring the relevance of existing insurance programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Promote new products through effective communication with clients.
  • Enhance the profitability of existing product lines by encouraging clients to utilize added-value services.
  • Consult on optimal coverage solutions tailored to specific needs.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by promptly addressing client inquiries and concerns.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and carrier representatives to stay informed about new and existing products.
  • Prepare comprehensive submissions to insurance carriers, including detailed narratives and loss analyses.
  • Follow up with insurance carriers to ensure timely quotes.
  • Work with producers to gather additional information from clients as needed.
  • Verify quotes against the Agency Management System for accuracy.
  • Review and update quoted data in company proposals.
  • Bind coverage and update the Agency Management System accordingly.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to execute strategies effectively.
  • Participate in meetings with carriers to gain market insights.
  • Ensure compliance with Community Bank System procedures by staying current with all changes.
  • Negotiate with underwriters to adjust policies as necessary to meet client needs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using the Agency Management System (Applied Epic), Microsoft Office, and other relevant software.
  • Exhibit technical knowledge of various insurance coverages and policies.
  • Engage in seminars and training for skill enhancement and knowledge development.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must effectively perform each essential duty. The following qualifications are necessary:

Education:

  • High School Diploma.

Professional Certifications/Licenses:

  • Property/Casualty License Required.
  • Maintain Agent/Broker License through ongoing education.
  • Earn or maintain CISR Designation.

Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of insurance experience required.
  • Familiarity with Agency Management Systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Acord forms.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Interest in relationship management and networking.
  • Exhibit trustworthiness, integrity, and discretion.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Results-driven approach to responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
  • Ability to generate and implement innovative ideas.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with potential for annual merit increases.
