About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Support Specialist to join our team at Allied Physicians Group. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for office visits and assist with various patient care activities to support physicians and nursing personnel.
  • Record patient care documentation accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company standards and policies.
  • Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians, company standards, and policies, ensuring seamless delivery of care.
  • Process documents in an organized and accurate fashion, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Prepare, restock, and disinfect examination rooms and other patient care areas, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Represent the clinic in a professional manner, treating all customers and colleagues with courtesy and respect.
  • Attend meetings and participate in team activities and professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date on industry best practices.
  • Greet patients and visitors, collect copays or balances due, and schedule appointments as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, supporting the overall mission and goals of Allied Physicians Group.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required; Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification a plus.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer literacy required.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
  • EMR experience preferred, with knowledge of electronic medical records and practice management systems.
