Job Title: Caregiver for Adults with Disabilities

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Caregiver for Adults with Disabilities to join our new Adult Day Service in MN. If you are passionate about assisting others, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

The Caregiver for Adults with Disabilities plays a crucial role in promoting independence, community integration, and personal growth of program participants in a safe and supportive environment that encourages and enhances independence, community integration, and individual personal growth.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment that promotes independence, community integration, and personal growth.
  • Enhance community engagement and individual socialization through identification of transportation needs and preferences.
  • Assistance in identifying and accessing healthcare, education, and employment services through research on available resources and guidance on eligibility criteria.
  • Support individuals in building relationships with supportive peers, family, and community members through facilitation of introductions and socialization skills training.
  • Training on effective communication strategies, active listening, assertiveness, and conflict resolution through role-playing exercises and real-life applications.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional education or certifications)
  • Previous experience in a similar role or working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health concerns, or related populations is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, person-centered care and support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in documenting services accurately.
  • Physical ability to assist individuals with mobility, lifting, and personal care needs as required.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Current auto liability insurance.
  • An acceptable clearance of background check.
  • Dependability, adaptability, and flexibility.
  • Observational and detail-oriented skills.
  • A positive role model for others and able to work on a team.
  • A commitment to creating a respectful and collaborative environment.
  • Person-centered, patient, and kind approach.
  • Good decision-making, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Responsibility, reliability, and ability to carry out job functions without direct supervision.
Estimated Salary Range: $42,000 - $58,000 per year
