Nuclear Background Report Specialist

This position is part of Pinnacle Investigations' Nuclear Department, responsible for completing background reports for clients governed by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and Nuclear Regulatory Committee (NRC).
As an entry-level role, employees will undergo training to learn about the regulations followed by this department, including NEI, NRC, and local or federal laws regarding background investigations. Prior knowledge of these regulations is not expected.
The Nuclear Background Report Specialist will engage in computer-based desk work, including taking inbound calls from employers, schools, military facilities, and personal character references of applicants, and transposing data into our system. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring we provide top-tier service to our clients and their applicants, while supporting our Nuclear Department team.
Working Schedule
This is an in-office, full-time, seasonal position. Opportunities for hybrid/remote work are available after completion of the probationary period, based on demonstrated communication skills, role-based knowledge, and performance. Seasonal employment times are approximately January - April and August - October. Typical schedule: Monday – Friday. Overtime and weekends available during peak seasons based on productivity and company needs. Shift start times vary between 5:00 AM – 8:00 AM, and will vary depending on staffing needs.
Compensation and Benefits
The Nuclear Background Report Specialist will receive a competitive hourly rate of $17.00-$17.50. Inquiries made regarding the potential impact of prior experience on the advancement of title or compensation, after the 90-day probationary period, assessments will be conducted to evaluate performance, application of previous experience, and qualifications within this role. Available benefits include health, vision, and dental insurance, supplemental benefits from Aflac, Colonial, and/or State Farm, paid time-off (vacation), paid sick leave, seven paid holidays per year, two mental health days per year, hybrid/remote opportunities, and flexible use of unpaid time-off.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Nuclear Background Report Specialist will be responsible for transposing data from Word and PDF documents, faxes, and emails, receiving and transferring incoming calls from employers, schools, military facilities, and personal character references, professional phone etiquette, detailed documentation of calls and actions taken on a report, and other duties as assigned. Required skills and qualifications include preferred experience in data entry, customer service, call center, and administration, knowledgeable computer skills, minimum typing speed of 50 WPM, prompt adaptability to new procedures and policies, proficient verbal and written communication, detail-oriented, ability to maintain focus in dynamic environments, competent multitasking capabilities, willingness to receive and implement constructive feedback, and authorization to work lawfully in the United States.
