Structural Test Engineer

Job Summary:
The Space Division at Leidos is seeking a skilled Structural Test Engineer to work in our Decatur, AL test facility. This exciting opportunity involves performing structural qualification testing on large hardware with up to 4 million pounds of load.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembly, integration, and test activities for space structures, systems, and hardware.
- Test planning, test execution, scheduling, and resource management.
- Trade studies, tooling and ground support equipment development, logistic and transportation planning, test plans and procedures, and engineering review boards.
- Interface with customers and work in an office and test stand environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience in the aerospace or structural testing.
- Extensive understanding of hydraulic systems, load control systems, instrumentation, and data systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams, design engineers, analysts, manufacturing, project management, and customer representatives.
- Experience with MOOG Control systems and HBM Data system.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills and ability to work with multiple interfaces.
Work Environment:
The candidate will work in an office and test stand environment, ascend/descend stairs, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
