Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant General Manager to join our team at Capstone On-Campus Management LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of our residential life operations, including accounts receivable, resident accounts, front desk operations, and human resource functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Oversee all resident accounts, including daily deposits, batch entry, correspondence, collections, electronic payment processing, and record keeping.
  • Resident Services: Coordinate the financial aid deferment process with residents and the financial aid payment process with UMBC.
  • Collections and Compliance: Responsible for the entire collections process, including all communications to residents and guarantors, collections account filing, and other means to ensure overall delinquency rate remains low.
  • Staff Supervision: Recruit, select, train, supervise, and evaluate one full-time Office Coordinator and four to eight part-time staff and/or student assistants.
  • Human Resources: Coordinate human resource functions for employees, including pre-employment screening, new hire processing, and on-going benefits functions.
  • Customer Service: Oversee customer service functions of the office, including maintaining a pleasant environment, training all staff that assist customers, and designing procedures to ensure success.
  • Security and Access: Oversee resident card access management, including lock out card tracking, and granting access via card access databases during the check-in process, and shutting off access at check-out.
  • Special Projects: Coordinate special projects with UMBC Residence Life, including the Resident Satisfaction Survey, move-in day, the move-out process, and other relevant functions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree related to Social Sciences or Business.
  • Experience: Two (2) years of full-time experience in residential life, property management, or similar fields, with supervisory experience of full-time staff.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written) skills, and demonstrated understanding and strong commitment to cultural diversity.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, as well as basic typing skills, and ability to successfully complete online, web-based training sessions, and pass comprehensive tests based on the learned material.
