We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team at DXP Enterprises. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing the ASC740 tax accounting and tax compliance functions for the company, ensuring that all areas of the company's taxation issues are adequately and timely addressed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Tax Provision Preparation: Oversee the preparation of tax provisions, including permanent and temporary differences, federal and state tax attributes, and tax accounting for equity compensation.
  • Responsible for Tax Provision Software: Ensure balances in tax provision software for gross temporary differences.
  • Support External Tax Advisors: Collaborate with external tax, legal, and other advisors, reviewing their opinions and maintaining relationships with them.
  • Prepare Federal and State Income Tax Returns: Manage the preparation of federal and state income tax returns, extensions, and ES payments.
  • Compute FIN 48 Reserves: Calculate FIN 48 reserves and FIN 48 NOL valuation allowance overlap.
  • Lead Tax Team: Recruit, manage, mentor, and lead a team of junior tax professionals.
  • Oversee Return to Provision: Oversee the calculation of return to provision and preparation of the journal entry(s).
  • Interact with Federal Authorities: Interact with federal governing authorities and external auditors, providing timely responses to information requests and working through complex corporate tax issues.
  • Perform Tax Research: Perform tax research and analysis on numerous and diverse tax issues.
  • Stay Current with Tax Legislation: Stay current with federal and state tax legislation.
  • Ensure SOX Compliance: Ensure compliance with SOX controls, updating controls as needed.
  • Responsible for Purchase Accounting: Responsible for purchase accounting.
  • Participate in Cross-Functional Teams: Participate on cross-functional project teams working on key company initiatives.
  • Adhere to Internal Standards: Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Experience: 6-7+ years of experience in working with a corporate tax department and public accounting firm.
  • Skills: Strong federal, state, and local income tax experience, strong working knowledge of GAAP.
