RN - Intensive Care Float Pool Specialist

As a Critical Care Nurse in our Float Pool, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Under the general supervision of our healthcare team, you will use your clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems.
Key Responsibilities:- Assessment: Perform accurate multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education needs, and discharge planning needs. Identify deviations from normal on routine lab diagnostic tests and reassess patients throughout their hospitalization.
- Planning: Develop an individual nursing plan of care that is sensitive to the developmental needs of the patient. Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other hospital and clinic departments and community agencies. Develop patient teaching plans and document them on the care plan or teaching plan.
- Implementation: Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for the management of medical and/or surgical patients. Bases nursing care on protocol in place for management of each patient. Correctly carry out the physician's plan of care, accurately document in the electronic medical record (EMR), and utilize a multidisciplinary approach when appropriate.
- Evaluation: Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patient response to treatment. Participate in unit quality assurance activities.
- Experience: Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience and minimum two (2) years recent ICU nursing experience.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- License, Certification, Registration: Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided) required at hire, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within 3 months of hire, and Basic Life Support required at hire.
- Computer Skills: Computer keyboarding skills.
- Drug Calculation Experience: Experience in drug calculation.
- Cardiac Rhythm Recognition: Experience in Cardiac Rhythm Recognition.
