Cardiac ICU Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiac ICU team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care, education, and support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities- Clinical Care: Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the disease process. Work collaboratively with attending physicians to ensure optimal patient care.
- Patient Education & Psychosocial Support: Educate patients and families on care and recommended resources. Provide psychosocial support to patients, their family members, and significant others.
- Information Management: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information. Protect patient confidentiality and maintain secure storage of sensitive information.
- Quality Management: Demonstrate a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing education and professional development to maintain and advance clinical competency. Serve as a clinical resource for new staff members and provide service-specific orientation.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
- Experience: Prefer clinical working experience as a NP/PA within the given specialty/service line. APRNs, PAs, CRNAs, and CNMs must be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process.
- Licensure: Active PA Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Connecticut State Physician Assistant License, ACLS/BLS Certified, when indicated for position profile DEA License, when indicated for pediatric position profile PALS, when indicated for neonatal care NRP Certification.
Additional licensure, certifications, and/or continuing education credits may be required during employment based on position and area of specialty. For this Cardiac ICU position, we are seeking candidates preferably with critical care experience. We will also consider new grads. If APRN, must have acute care certification. Schedule will be 12-hour AM/PM rotating shifts.
