Overview:

Join our esteemed Magnetic Resonance Imaging department at Fairview Health Services. We are looking for a dedicated MRI Specialist to enhance our team, with opportunities for cross-training available for those with limited experience.

  • Our facility provides comprehensive imaging services around the clock, catering to both inpatient and emergency patients. Outpatient imaging is available daily, and our technologists collaborate closely with a diverse range of clinical professionals. As a multi-specialty imaging technologist, you will perform imaging services across various examinations, including Neuro, Body, Musculoskeletal, Breast, and Vascular.
  • The MRI Specialist operates independently within the professional practice framework, executing all major responsibilities. You will deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients and physicians, ensuring age-appropriate care according to established standards, while working in tandem with the healthcare team. Adherence to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements is essential.
  • Schedule:

This position is structured as 0.75 FTE (60 hours bi-weekly), with 12-hour shifts primarily during the night (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM).

  • Week 1: Three nights (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday)
  • Week 2: Two nights (Wednesday, Thursday)
  • Every other weekend includes an extended weekend off.

Positions in this department do not typically require on-call duties.

  • Ensure the integrity of patient data.
  • Adhere to radiologic safety protocols and diagnostic testing procedures.
  • Document accurately in compliance with regulatory requirements, including scheduling and billing updates.
  • Follow infection control protocols.
  • Serve as a resource for other healthcare team members.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Ensure accurate image marking and digital archiving.
  • Assess test results for consistency with physiological changes.
  • Participate in quality assurance testing as required.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Technical Certificate and/or Associate's Degree in Radiology.
  • Current Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Compliance with MRI Safety Screen Requirements.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Understanding of ACR Guidelines for MRI Safety.
  • Knowledge of quality control and safety standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred:
  • One or more years of experience in a related role.
  • Additional certifications in Imaging.
  • ARRT MRI Certification or completion within 18 months of hire.
  • Previous healthcare experience is advantageous.
