Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist

The MRI Imaging Technician is responsible for conducting MRI examinations to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients as directed by healthcare providers. This position plays a crucial role in generating imaging that influences clinical data and research outcomes. The individual in this role will proficiently operate the necessary systems and equipment.
Overview of the MRI Imaging Technician Role
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting magnetic resonance imaging studies as per physician or provider orders, adhering to established protocols.
- Coordinating patient schedules for MRI examinations.
- Ensuring accurate identification on all images and completing computer functions in line with departmental policies, including necessary edits, status updates, charges, logging, film marking, and preparation for storage to facilitate appropriate follow-up.
- Staying informed about and implementing advancements in the field of MRI.
- Effectively communicating and collaborating with clinicians, physicians, radiologists, technologists, and patients.
- Associate of Applied Science degree or equivalent training program with a certificate of completion.
- Registered technologist with ARRT certification as a R.T.(R); if not MRI certified, it must be obtained within 18 months of employment.
- Understanding of basic nursing practices related to MRI, including emergency protocols, sterile techniques, infection control, and CPR.
- Experience in an academic or clinical environment.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking abilities; excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to adapt and work collaboratively.
- 3 to 6 months of experience as an MRI Imaging Technician.
- MRI accreditation is preferred.
- Diverse experience as an MRI Imaging Technician.
- Strong visualization, time management, and organizational skills.
Hours: Casual
