Serán BioScience is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Engineer to join our team in the role of Facilities Engineer - GMP Manufacturing. As a key member of our Facilities team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our GMP manufacturing facilities. We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in facility systems, including HVAC, compressed gases, water systems, electrical, and automation/controls.

About the Role

As a Facilities Engineer, you will be responsible for performing and documenting preventative and productive maintenance on GMP and non-GMP facility systems. You will also perform quality checks on equipment regularly to ensure everything is in working order. Additionally, you will assist in on-the-job training of newly hired maintenance technicians and help maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document preventative and productive maintenance on GMP and non-GMP facility systems
  • Perform quality checks on equipment regularly to ensure everything is in working order
  • Assist in on-the-job training of newly hired maintenance technicians
  • Ability to recognize immediate and potential safety hazards and pursue appropriate actions to report and resolve
  • Ability to execute and control daily and weekly work orders, maintenance tasks, and written reports with limited supervision
  • Requests, organizes, and maintains tools and equipment used to perform duties
  • Coordinates, manages, and supports contractors working on the buildings and supporting equipment
  • Assists the Facilities Manager in daily operations of repair and maintenance
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Routinely applies knowledge and skills to troubleshoot for optimal outcome
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience and working knowledge on facility systems including but not limited to HVAC, compressed gases, water systems (i.e. purified water, steam), electrical, and automation/controls plus monitoring
  • Ability to assemble & inspect equipment
  • Ability to evaluate equipment failure situations and make judgments that lead to a successful plan of action
  • Ability to follow and understand operation manuals
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as written and oral communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Must have hands-on and technical skills
  • Must have an awareness of safety and proper safety behavior
  • Comprehensive knowledge of tools and equipment used on the job
  • Ability to make decisions, prioritize workload, and respond appropriately to change
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000, depending on experience. Serán BioScience offers a comprehensive benefits package, including over four weeks of paid time off annually, employer contributions to a retirement account, various health plans, and more.
