The Executive Vice President, State Government and Regulatory Affairs is responsible for leading Comcast's state governmental policy and advocacy efforts. This role serves as the company's chief advocate on all public policy and regulatory matters before the state legislature, executive branch, and public utilities commission.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement legislative and state administration strategies to advance Comcast's interests.
- Monitor legislation and regulatory activities affecting the company and the cable industry.
- Build and maintain relationships with government representatives and regulators at the state and local level.
- Collaborate with senior management and government affairs personnel to develop and implement strategies that shape public policy.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure consistent and sound state government policy.
- Draft, analyze, and present legislation, amendments, and testimony as necessary.
- Manage relationships with outside counsel, consultants, and lobbyists to implement strategies or initiatives.
- Consult and coordinate with business units on state procurement opportunities.
This role requires a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in government affairs related disciplines working with legislators and/or government. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, sound verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.
EducationA Bachelor's Degree in Communications or Government, or a related discipline, is required. A law or related advanced degree is preferred.
