Job Overview:
This role involves assisting in various food service operations within the Davenport Community Schools. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that food service areas are prepared and maintained to high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Aid in the setup of service areas and assist in portioning and serving food items.
2. Support the cleaning and proper storage of kitchen equipment, including garbage removal and sanitation of floors and tables.
3. Collaborate with cooks in the assembly of complex recipes as needed.
4. Heat convenience foods following established guidelines.
5. Operate various food service equipment for preparation, service, and cleanup.
6. Help control food and supply costs through proper handling and storage techniques, as well as portion control.
7. Uphold standards of sanitation, safety, production, service, and food quality.
8. Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members.
9. Maintain positive public relations with students, parents, faculty, and the community.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
The candidate must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods and walk frequently throughout the day. The role may involve working in warm environments and requires manual dexterity for handling kitchen equipment. The ability to lift materials weighing at least 46 pounds is essential, and climbing stairs may be necessary.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate competence in the responsibilities outlined above.
