POSITION SUMMARY

The Patient Care Assistant plays a vital role in supporting patients with their daily activities, delivering fundamental nursing assistance to non-critical patients, and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment under the guidance of the supervising Registered Nurse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively communicate with the Registered Nurse regarding treatment outcomes, observations, patient concerns, and other relevant information about the patient's condition.
  • Exhibit proficiency in delivering patient care in alignment with the established policies and procedures of Good Samaritan Medical Center.
  • Utilize knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for patients ranging from infants to geriatrics.
  • Accurately perform and document patient care data in accordance with Good Samaritan Medical Center's policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Aid in maintaining a healthy, clean, and safe environment for both patients and staff.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to changes in workload or patient assignments.
  • Show the ability to act accurately and effectively in crisis and emergency situations where time is critical.
  • Fulfill the responsibilities of an Observation Assistant as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE/TECHNICAL/OTHER:

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Nursing Assistant Certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant
