Sign Language Interpreter

ProCare Therapy is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join their team in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly qualified interpreter to facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff in a school setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience working with deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
Responsibilities- Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa in various settings, including classrooms, assemblies, and meetings.
- Provide support to deaf or hard-of-hearing students to ensure they understand instructions, assignments, and educational content.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop strategies for effective communication and inclusion.
- Work closely with the school administration to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, preferably with a focus on ASL.
- Completed EIPA and/or RID certification.
- Minimum 1+ years of experience as a Sign Language Interpreter.
- Competitive hourly rate: $30-40.
