Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to citizens in need, utilizing advanced life support techniques and equipment.
  • Participate in fire prevention and education efforts to promote public safety, including conducting fire safety inspections and providing educational programs to the community.
  • Operate and maintain fire department vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and ready for emergency response.
  • Perform daily training exercises and classroom lectures to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and procedures, including emergency medical procedures and fire suppression methods.
  • Work collaboratively with other firefighters and paramedics to achieve departmental goals and objectives, including responding to emergency calls and participating in community events.
Requirements:
  • Be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and be certified as a Firefighter I and hold a State of Wisconsin Firefighter I Certification.
  • Be certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and hold a State of Wisconsin EMT License.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hold a Firefighter II Certification and a Paramedic License.
  • Have completed the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT).
