About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin Corporation. As a key member of our Aerodynamics Technology Center, you will be responsible for performing aerodynamic analysis, design, and testing to support our IRAD- and contract-funded efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform aerodynamic analysis, including simulation and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling
  • Design and develop aerodynamic systems, including preliminary and detailed design
  • Plan and execute wind tunnel tests to validate aerodynamic performance
  • Develop and maintain mathematical models of aerodynamic systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate aerodynamic systems into larger systems
Requirements
  • Masters degree (or higher) in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Interim Secret clearance
  • Significant experience in aerodynamic and fluid dynamic modeling and analyses
  • Programming experience in languages such as C++, MATLAB, or FORTRAN
  • Mathematical modeling and analyses skills, including Calculus, Numerical Methods, and Linear Algebra
Preferred Qualifications
  • Significant experience in aerodynamic wind tunnel testing
  • Significant experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Experience with heat transfer analyses, including Conduction, Convection, and Radiation
  • Experience with reacting flow and hypersonic systems
