Job Title: RTL/DFx Design Engineer

At Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., we are seeking an experienced RTL/DFx Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Technology Validation team, you will play a critical role in driving advanced technology evaluations to ensure successful product launches.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect and vet objectives for Si evaluation from stakeholders
  • Translate design objectives into readable and synthesizable RTL/Verilog
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance an RTL code repository
  • Invent new design collateral to enhance Si technology evaluation
  • Deliver code to the Design Verification team and support debug
  • Optimize design to meet power, performance, and area requirements
  • Work with physical design/layout team to ensure tapeout schedules
  • Drive adoption of new and innovative DFx strategies
  • Create well-written block-level design documentation
  • Participate in post-silicon functional and performance debug and tuning
Requirements:
  • Proven IC design experience
  • Expert-level in RTL/Verilog
  • Deep understanding of VLSI DFx strategies (e.g., JTAG, BIST, ATPG, Boundary Scan)
  • Knowledge of end-to-end design flow and familiarity with EDA tools (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence)
  • Excellent scripting skills (e.g., Perl, C shell, Python)
  • BS and MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
