GENERAL FUNCTION: The Junior Credit Analyst plays a crucial role in collaborating with Portfolio Managers, assisting in the daily responsibilities of credit assessment and oversight while executing analytical tasks as required. A successful Junior Credit Analyst will prepare documentation and leverage various reporting tools to identify portfolio management activities, providing insightful recommendations to Portfolio Managers. This role requires a solid understanding of financial and risk analysis, alongside proficiency in financial modeling. Critical thinking abilities are essential, as well as adaptability, a strong desire to learn, and the capability to foster relationships with multiple internal stakeholders.

As a responsible team member, you will be accountable for risk management by openly sharing ideas and concerns, adhering to established policies and procedures. You will consistently prioritize doing what is right for both customers and colleagues, ensuring that your actions contribute to a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk framework, you will achieve results by effectively identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting various types of risks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers in credit evaluation and underwriting, performing necessary analytical tasks.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to draft and identify relevant documentation.
  • Regularly input indicative credit information into Banking Systems with high accuracy.
  • Prepare risk-rating scorecards and conduct tickler event analyses, determining necessary actions in partnership with Portfolio Managers.
  • Develop risk models and alert Portfolio Managers to unforeseen challenges that may affect client satisfaction.
  • Identify and execute required monitoring analysis activities.
  • Verify compliance with covenants and update tickler systems as necessary.
  • Track covenant completion and recommend appropriate actions for past due or non-compliant covenants.
  • Assess covenant compliance reporting and pinpoint issues.
  • Update financial covenants and calculations as required.
  • Execute Probability of Default (PD) models under supervision.
  • Evaluate completed financial spreads and collaborate with the Credit Control Unit team for necessary adjustments.
  • Identify and suggest preliminary portfolio management actions using Credit Service reporting and RADAR with some oversight.
  • Support Portfolio Managers with special projects as needed.
  • Address deficiencies and escalate questions or disputes to the appropriate level when necessary.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting).
  • 0-2 years of experience in Commercial Banking.
  • Understanding of financial and risk analysis, including the ability to create financial models.
  • Familiarity with banking products and services.
  • Awareness of corporate business structures and legal documentation.
  • General knowledge of U.S. regulations and government policies.
  • Preferred knowledge of local or regional markets, though not required.
  • Preferred familiarity with internal banking applications, though not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Standard office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, and temperature variations.
  • Minimal travel is required.
