We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Scientist to join our team at Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. as part of our AI and Machine Learning research group. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the state-of-the-art in large language models and multimodal models.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement novel research ideas to improve the quality of large language and multimodal models.
- Accelerate the training and inference speed of large language models.
- Research and develop novel machine learning techniques and model architectures.
- Influence the direction of AMD's AI platform.
- Publish research findings in top-tier venues.
- Engage with academia and open-source machine learning communities.
- PhD degree or equivalent in machine learning, computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
- Expertise in training large language models and/or large multimodal models.
- Experience with hyper-parameter tuning techniques, data preprocessing, and tokenization methods.
- Knowledge of latest transformer architectures.
- Strong publication record in top-tier conferences and journals.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in developing and debugging in Python.
- Experience with text-to-image / text-to-video / image-to-text or video-to-text models.
- Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlow.
- Experience with distributed training.
San Jose or Seattle; other US locations may be considered.
