Position Overview:

Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the Compounding Technician I is responsible for working within a sterile environment, compounding medications for at least 50% of their time to ensure safe, precise, and efficient compounding operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Medication Compounding, Preparation, & Processing

  • Assists the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications and supplies in compliance with company policies and state regulations.
  • Accurately compounds medications to meet established standards.
  • Conducts basic pharmaceutical calculations to ensure correct dosages.
  • Labels and packages medications with precision.
  • Participates in the assessment, management, and reporting of medication-related incidents.

Facility & Equipment Maintenance

  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods.
  • Monitors equipment functionality and documents any malfunctions or defects.
  • Assists in maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.

Supervisory Role:

This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician.
  • Must possess a valid license or registration as mandated by state law.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in delivering customer service to both internal and external clients, ensuring adherence to quality standards and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient in basic and intermediate mathematical calculations.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching required.
  • Capability to lift at least 30 lbs.

Travel Requirements:

No travel required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of the designated training course within six months of hire (if applicable).
  • Prior experience in healthcare or as a pharmacy technician is preferred.

Compensation:

Salary will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, along with internal equity and market alignment.

Pay Range: $23.48 - $39.13
