We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer to join our team at Williams-Sonoma, Inc. As a Product Engineer, you will play a critical role in transforming product designs into manufacturable products, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality and aesthetically pleasing products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Development: Collaborate with Design and Product Management to develop technical specifications, schedules, prototypes, and manufacturing launches for new products.
  • Manufacturing Support: Develop models, drawings, procedures, and manufacturing instructions to support product development and production activities.
  • Supplier Management: Identify potential suppliers, collaborate with the sourcing team, inspect samples, and first production parts.
  • Bill of Materials: Create and maintain bills of material in the ERP system.
  • Prototyping and Production: Coordinate prototyping and provide necessary documentation and instruction to support production activities.
  • Project Management: Work on multiple new product projects under deadline, often working independently.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Report on product development schedules and budgets.
  • Continuous Improvement: Work with multiple teams to improve core product design for manufacturability, ease of assembly, and reduction of product cost.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with Inspection to improve product quality and inspection criteria, root cause defect analysis, and facilitate the product improvement process.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: 2-6 years of experience in new product development, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering role.
  • Manufacturing Processes: Experience with spinning, stamping, forging, and casting manufacturing processes.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Experience with World Class Manufacturing/Lean/Toyota Production System principles, TPM, 6S.
  • Software Skills: Proficient use of Microsoft Dynamics, Autodesk Inventor, or other solid modeling software, and MS Office products.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
