Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze denied insurance claims to identify reasons for denial.
- Prepare and submit appeals, including necessary supporting documentation.
- Investigate claims without payer response to ensure timely resolution.
- Research Ohio Medicaid rules, payer contracts, and billing guidelines to resolve disputes.
- Collaborate with the billing team on special projects and assist with claim escalation.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in reporting claim denials and following up with insurance providers.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or a similar field (experience in Ohio Medicaid Behavioral Health billing preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EHR/RCM software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Certification: CPR certification required (Medical Billing and Coding certification preferred).
