Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at API Heat Transfer. As a key player under the guidance of the Production Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the production of company products are of the highest quality while also striving to maintain the lowest possible cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning and Scheduling
    • Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure efficient production processes.
    • Directly supervise the systems integration and test functions to ensure the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost.
  • Quality Control and Assurance
    • Update the Daily Gemba Boards and participate daily Gemba walks to meet customer requirements.
    • Ensure that new and current employees are trained in the processes and methods required to achieve the company's quality, quantity, and safety standards and to ensure ISO9001.
  • Supply Chain Management
    • Review parts shortages with the supply chain team and adjust schedules as necessary.
  • Employee Development and Training
    • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures and plan the repair of machines and equipment to minimize downtime.
    • Develop, recommend, and implement departmental policies, procedures, processes, and methods.
  • Technical Support and Problem-Solving
    • Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems, analyze and resolve work problems, and assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Maintain departmental supplies, tools, equipment, and order as necessary.
    • Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, and documentation, such as timecards and quality records.
  • Leadership and Communication
    • Approve vacation schedules.
    • Ensure compliance with departmental housekeeping standards and all safety and work rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree and one to two years of related experience, or two years of college and three to five years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Effective communication, both internal and external.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
    • Proficiency in problem-solving with various variables in situations with limited standardization.
    • Proficient in training employees, assigning and directing work, assessing performance, rewarding, and addressing complaints.
