Position Overview:

We are seeking a proficient ESS Service Technician to become a vital part of our team at BYD COACH & BUS LLC. In this role, you will take charge of commissioning tasks related to the Energy Storage System (ESS), as well as modifying and repairing both mechanical and electrical components. Your expertise in troubleshooting, testing, and servicing equipment will be essential to maintain optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble each phase of the ESS in accordance with established processes.
  • Provide comprehensive service, rework, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of equipment.
  • Identify issues and effectively communicate solutions to customers and team members.
  • Interpret schematics and adhere to engineering documentation during installations.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, meters, and other necessary equipment.
  • Work with materials such as fiberglass, plastics, composites, and aluminum.
  • Install and maintain cooling systems.
  • Follow safety protocols and consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Communicate updates, progress, and make informed decisions as required.
  • Balance responsibilities between team collaboration and individual tasks.
  • Adapt to evolving work environments and follow management directives.
  • Embody organizational values and contribute positively to the workplace culture.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including rework tasks.
Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Previous experience in a related field is advantageous, and the ability to execute essential job functions is critical. Key attributes for success include adaptability, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to safety.

Work Environment:

This position involves working in diverse settings, including indoor and occasionally elevated locations. The noise level may be elevated, and physical demands include sitting, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and utilizing various hand and power tools. Vision capabilities such as close, distance, and color vision are vital for this role.

Travel Requirements:

Anticipate approximately 30% travel as part of this position.
