Manufacturing IT Support Specialist
This role is pivotal in establishing and providing initial support for manufacturing IT hardware and software requirements, while also promoting ongoing enhancements to operational systems. The IT Support Specialist will ensure the sustained functionality of factory computer systems and tablet-based workstations, collaborating closely with operations and IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues that impact manufacturing efficiency. Additionally, this position will liaise with factory management to oversee hardware and software updates. The role is dynamic, requiring adaptability to meet the diverse needs of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain an inventory of all factory hardware and software, including specialized application software.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for factory-specific hardware and software applications.
- Develop familiarity with operator interactions with the Manufacturing Execution System to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with IT on the maintenance and replacement of factory PCs.
- Oversee the installation of printers, tablets, and PCs in the factory after imaging by IT.
- Act as the first point of contact for hardware and software issues related to the factory, partnering with IT for resolution.
- Work closely with factory supervision to coordinate activities effectively.
- Engage with manufacturing personnel to identify gaps and inefficiencies in the manufacturing IT systems and drive improvements.
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; candidates currently enrolled in such programs will also be considered.
- Comfortable working in a clean room environment and able to wear appropriate protective gear.
- Willingness to adjust work schedule as necessary to meet factory demands.
- Proficient in Windows operating systems and infrastructure.
- Professional certifications are advantageous.
- Strong time management, multitasking, and networking abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to motivate team members.
- Some experience in computer application programming is preferred.
- Experience in semiconductor operations is a plus.
- Understanding of semiconductor process flows, structures, and functions is beneficial.
- Customer service orientation and creative problem-solving skills are essential.
