Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with employees, management, and stakeholders to enhance safety awareness through thorough risk assessments.
  • Conduct safety audits and facility inspections to ensure adherence to safety regulations and uphold a secure working environment.
  • Lead and manage initiatives related to employee health and safety.
  • Provide training to staff across various departments, including specialized training such as confined space entry and LOTOTO, along with annual refresher courses.
  • Monitor ongoing operations, identify safety concerns, and implement necessary corrective measures.
  • Engage in cross-functional teams to oversee incident investigations and perform root cause analyses.
  • Accompany regulatory inspectors during site evaluations and document all activities.
  • Facilitate health and safety orientations, visit job sites, and distribute materials to encourage compliance with safety and environmental policies.
  • Manage the workers' compensation program, coordinating with insurers, monitoring claims, and developing loss prevention and rehabilitation strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading teams and/or projects.
  • Five (5) years of experience with a High School diploma or GED, OR three (3) years of experience with an Associate's degree, OR
  • A Bachelor's degree with one (1) year of experience, OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical mining-related field with relevant internship experience in mining or an industrial setting.
  • Prior experience in mining or industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated success in spearheading health and safety initiatives.
  • Proficient in conducting safety audits and facility inspections effectively.
