Medical Office Coordinator for Orthopedic Practice

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Coordinator to join our team at The Orthopedic Partners. As a Medical Office Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.
Responsibilities- Patient Greetings and Check-In: Warmly welcome patients, visitors, and other individuals arriving at the medical office, efficiently checking them in for appointments and verifying insurance coverage.
- Appointment Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule patient appointments, coordinate with healthcare professionals to schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and consultations, and maintain and update the appointment calendar.
- Communication and Correspondence: Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information regarding services, office policies, and general medical office procedures, retrieve and relay voicemail messages promptly and accurately, and respond to emails and faxes in a timely manner.
- Patient Records and Documentation: Accurately input and update patient information in the electronic health record (EHR) system, maintain patient records, and ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Billing and Insurance: Collaborate with billing department or external billing service providers as needed.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in the medical industry is preferred.
- Skill in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner and using a multi-line telephone system is essential.
- Skill in operating a computer and basic office equipment is necessary.
- Familiarity with billing software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively are crucial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with insurance providers, patients, and internal stakeholders, are required.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is essential.
- A high level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive patient information is necessary.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, is preferred.
The estimated salary for this position is between $45,000 and $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
