Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Child Care Assistant to join our team at Community Action Corporation of South Texas. As a Child Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our children. Your primary responsibilities will include meal preparation, dish washing, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for our children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meal Preparation and Sanitation: Prepare healthy meals for our children, maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen, and follow proper food handling and storage procedures.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and sanitize the playground area, maintain a clean and safe environment for our children, and perform other cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Child Supervision: Assist our teachers with supervising and caring for our children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of our children's meals, activities, and progress, and assist our teachers with record keeping and reporting.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children, preferably in a childcare setting.
  • Certifications: Annual certification in Health Certificate, First Aid, and CPR required.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, totaling 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday. You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, lifting up to 30 pounds, and standing for long periods. A valid driver's license and safe driving record are required.
