Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at CommonSpirit Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating diagnostic equipment and performing a variety of technical diagnostic imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and perform technical diagnostic imaging procedures under the direction of the Medical Director.
  • Obtain and document patient history, including medical records and test results.
  • Prepare equipment for use, ensuring it is operational, safe, and functioning according to diagnostic standards.
  • Perform periodic quality assurance checks and maintain equipment logs.
  • Assist patients with basic patient care needs, including positioning and preparing them for diagnostic procedures.
  • Communicate with nursing, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth and efficient patient care.
  • Perform portable examinations at the bedside when necessary, ensuring patient safety and providing immediate diagnostic testing.
  • Assist with patient scheduling and coordinate with other departments as needed.
  • Provide patient orientation, preparation, and teaching prior to, during, and after diagnostic procedures.
  • Review physician orders to verify the type of diagnostic exam requested and ensure consistency with patient indications.
  • Complete exams in the RIS system for accurate billing and communicate any necessary corrections.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree (preferred)
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R); must maintain current certification
  • Certified by the State of Texas – MRT; must maintain current certification
  • BLS certification (required)
  • One (1) year of Radiologic Technologist experience (preferred)
