Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the PCU Nights department. As a new nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, assessing patients, identifying needs, and creating care plans. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to evaluate patient responses, prioritize needs, and develop effective care plans.

Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate patient health conditions using clinical reasoning and identify, prioritize, and address needs of patients and families.
  2. Develop care plans to improve health outcomes and regularly evaluate nursing practices to improve healthcare quality.
  3. Create a caring environment and build connections with patients and families, acknowledging and respecting their unique differences.
  4. Manage emotional and physical pain to promote relief, healing, and reduce suffering.
  5. Advocate for patient privacy and rights, representing their interests and values effectively.
  6. Promote learning among patients, families, nursing staff, and the wider community, establishing and documenting learning needs and outcomes.
  7. Work with peers and community to create care plans, assign tasks, and provide feedback.
  8. Use problem-solving strategies wisely, considering scarce resources and focusing on safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care.
  9. Be involved in decision-making processes, acknowledging contributions of all and contributing to peers' development.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate insight into established nursing and patient care practices, as well as a broad understanding of related laws, regulations, certification standards, and hospital/departmental policies. You will also need to be comfortable with medical terminology, articulate in conveying thoughts and ideas, and possess interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse range of personalities.

Qualifications

You should have completed a program from a recognized institution or have at least 2 years of related professional experience. Your major should be in Nursing, and some professional experience in the field is appreciated. You will also need to be a Registered Nurse and have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
