About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Activities Director to join our team at Bickford Senior Living. As a key member of our community, you will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging activities that promote the physical, social, and emotional well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Activity Planning: Develop and implement a diverse range of activities that cater to the interests and abilities of our residents, including physical exercise, social events, recreational activities, intellectual pursuits, creative endeavors, and entertainment.
  • Activity Coordination: Lead and conduct activities as needed, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
  • Resident Engagement: Invite and remind residents to participate in planned activities, promoting a sense of community and social connection.
  • Transportation: Operate a Bickford vehicle to transport residents to activities outside the community, as needed.
  • Training and Support: Train, support, and instruct other team members to conduct activities, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for residents.
  • Activity Calendar: Develop a Monthly Activity Calendar that incorporates activities 7 days a week, including evening and weekend events.
  • Event Planning: Plan, coordinate, and implement decoration of the community for special events, seasons, and holidays.
  • Logistics: Coordinate food needs for scheduled activities with the kitchen, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for residents.
  • Financial Management: Operate the activity program within Branch budget guidelines, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
Requirements
  • Education: High-school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in recreation or other healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Certification: Certification in Assisted Living Activities is preferred but required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), with the ability to learn new applications.
  • Communication: Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication, with the ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Organizational Skills: Competent in organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Judgment and Problem-Solving: Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license and a driving record consistent with Bickford's insurance carrier guidelines.
