Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Lao Family Community Development, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our 285-unit residential building.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular inspections and schedule preventive maintenance to ensure all systems and equipment are functioning correctly.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical issues, as well as door locks and other building systems.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, and order replacements as needed.
  • Keep records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment specifications.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and take appropriate actions to address them.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, management, and external contractors or service providers as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of basic tools for performing simple electrical, plumbing, and flooring/carpentry.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Must have the ability to establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the performance of duties.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and may be required to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
