Ryder System is seeking a skilled and experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Portland, OR. As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake and tire work, and other preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with diesel engines, including AC, electrical systems, and other advanced repairs.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete repair orders and meet customer satisfaction goals.
  • Interact with customers to facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss new repair estimates.
  • Coordinate work schedules and prioritize workload to meet customer needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining accurate records and adhering to company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
  • Non-Commercial Driver License Class E preferred.
  • Other state driver's license as required.
  • Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment.
  • Able to take home assigned mobile service truck and secure vehicle and contents.
  • Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles.
